The term “Agasobanuye” means “the explained one” in Kinyarwanda.
It refers to a local film narration style that adds commentary, explanations, and humor to foreign movies, helping non-English speakers enjoy global films.

This style was pioneered by Nkusi Thomas, popularly known as Yanga, who became a cultural icon in Rwanda for his entertaining narrations.
Through his voice-overs, he transformed the way audiences experienced foreign films — blending education, entertainment, and humor into one art form.
